Our patented soy based formulas contain no lanolin. Lanolin is found in many inexpensive leather conditioners. Lanolin is used because it is made of purified animal fats. Animal fats are cheap to produce but provide a excellent food source for bacteria growth in and on your leather. Black Box's soy based leather conditioner formulas do not provide any food source oils for bacteria or mold to grow. So when your leather starts to smell "funky" and getting discolored areas on it, it is probably because of mold or bacteria is starting to grow in or on the leather. When you apply Black Box's soy based formulas, the soy oil provides a natural bacterial preventing oil to the leather which helps protect against this mold and bacteria growth.
